Day 1: Arrival in Manali | Acclimatization & Briefing
- Arrive at Himalayan Backcountry Adventures base in Vashisht, Manali.
- Afternoon acclimatization walk to nearby viewpoints.
- Detailed trek briefing, gear check, and cultural orientation.
- Overnight in guesthouse.
Day 2: Manali to Gulaba (2,600m) & Trek to Rola Kholi (3,400m)
- Morning drive from Manali to Gulaba (approx. 45 minutes).
- Begin trek through beautiful pine and oak forests.
- Steady ascent with emerging views of surrounding peaks.
- Arrive at Rola Kholi meadow, with campsite near fresh water source.
- Evening briefing on high-altitude trekking techniques.
- Overnight in tents.
Day 3: Rola Kholi to Bhrigu Lake (4,300m) & Return to Rola Kholi
- Early morning start after breakfast.
- Trek across alpine meadows with panoramic mountain views.
- Final ascent to the sacred Bhrigu Lake.
- Spend time at the lake for photography and reflection.
- Optional further ascent to higher viewpoints (weather permitting).
- Descend back to Rola Kholi campsite.
- Overnight in tents.
Day 4: Rola Kholi to Gulaba & Return to Manali
- After breakfast, descend through forest trails to Gulaba.
- Drive back to Manali with final mountain vistas.
- Arrive in Manali by early afternoon.
- Trip concludes upon arrival.

Altitude & Acclimatization

This trek involves significant altitude gain in a short duration.
Participants should be in good physical condition with prior walking experience.
Proper hydration and pacing are essential for altitude acclimatization.
Individuals with heart, lung, or blood pressure conditions must consult their doctor and inform us during booking.

Weather & Trail Conditions

Weather at high altitude is unpredictable; be prepared for sudden changes.
Temperatures can range from 15°C during the day to -5°C at night.
The final ascent to Bhrigu Lake involves rocky and potentially slippery sections.
Trek itinerary may be modified based on weather conditions at the trek leader’s discretion.

Booking & Cancellation Policy

50% advance payment required to confirm booking.
Cancellation 30+ days before departure: 75% refund.
Cancellation 15-30 days before departure: 50% refund.
Cancellation less than 15 days before departure: No refund.
Himalayan Backcountry Adventures reserves the right to cancel due to unsafe weather or trail conditions, with full refund.

Cultural & Environmental Ethics

Bhrigu Lake is considered sacred by local communities. Respectful behavior is mandatory.
Strict “Leave No Trace” principles apply – all waste must be carried back.
No swimming or washing in or near the lake.
Respect local customs and seek permission before photographing villagers or religious sites.

Essential Packing List

Must Carry: Waterproof trekking boots, layered clothing (thermals, fleece, down jacket), rain jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen (SPF 50+), gloves, woolen cap.
Recommended: Trekking poles, headlamp with extra batteries, personal water purification, camera with extra batteries, personal medications.
Provided: Sleeping bags, sleeping mats, tents, and all group equipment.

Safety & Responsibility

The trek leader’s decision regarding participant safety and fitness to continue is final.
All participants must sign an indemnity form before the trek.
While we carry comprehensive first-aid and emergency oxygen, participants are responsible for their personal health.
Mobile network is unreliable during most of the trek; emergency satellite communication is carried by the guide.
