Day 1: Arrival in Uttarkashi | Acclimatization & Temple Visit
Arrive at the base town of Uttarkashi, situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. This spiritual town is home to the revered Vishwanath Temple (ancient Shiva temple) and serves as the gateway to the trek. Use the afternoon for acclimatization, a temple visit, and a final gear check.
Overnight: Hotel/Guesthouse in Uttarkashi.
Day 2: Drive to Sangamchatti/Agoda & Trek to Bebra
A short drive from Uttarkashi takes you to the trailhead at Sangamchatti (or further to Agoda village, subject to road conditions). The trek begins alongside the Assi Ganga River, ascending through forests and passing the village of Agoda. The trail moderates as you descend into the idyllic valley of Bebra, surrounded by green fields and a gushing stream.
Overnight: Camp at Bebra.
Trek: ~7 km | 4-5 hours.
Day 3: Bebra to Manjhi
Continue the ascent from the valley, with the trail offering beautiful views of alpine scenery and distant snow-clad ranges like Bandarpunch. Pass through seasonal shepherd huts and clearings like Dharkot before arriving at the campsite at Manjhi, a seasonal village offering splendid mountain vistas.
Overnight: Camp at Manjhi.
Trek: ~9 km | 4-6 hours.
Day 4: Manjhi to Dodi Tal Lake
A shorter and relatively easier trek brings you to the star attraction: Dodi Tal Lake. The forest trail leads you to the serene, emerald-green lake nestled amidst deodar trees. Visit the ancient temple of Lord Ganesha on its bank. The afternoon is free to absorb the tranquil beauty, with opportunities for photography and relaxation by the lakeside.
Overnight: Camp at Dodi Tal.
Trek: ~6 km | 3-4 hours.
Day 5: Dodi Tal to Darwa Pass & Return to Dodi Tal
An early start for the optional climb to Darwa Pass. This is the most challenging part of the trek, involving a steep ascent through rhododendron forests and alpine meadows to reach the pass at over 4,150m. The effort is rewarded with a breathtaking 180-degree panorama of major Himalayan peaks like Bandarpunch, Srikanth, and the Swargarohini group. Descend back to Dodi Tal for the night.
Trek: ~10-12 km round trip | 5-7 hours.
Day 6: Dodi Tal to Sangamchatti/Agoda & Drive to Uttarkashi
Begin the return journey, retracing your steps down the valley through Manjhi and Bebra to the roadhead at Sangamchatti/Agoda. From here, drive back to Uttarkashi for a final overnight stay
